Job Description:

Wood Contracting Inc. is seeking an experienced Kitchen Remodeling Specialist to join our team working on high-quality residential kitchen renovation projects throughout Chicago. This role involves hands-on work in all aspects of kitchen remodeling, from demolition through finish carpentry and installation. You will work directly with owner Dillon Wood on projects where attention to detail and craftsmanship are paramount.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform kitchen demolition while protecting surrounding areas and maintaining clean work sites.
  • Install custom cabinetry, countertops, backsplashes, and kitchen fixtures to exact specifications.
  • Execute framing modifications, drywall installation, and finish carpentry for kitchen renovations.
  • Coordinate with plumbers and electricians to ensure proper placement of fixtures and appliances.
  • Install kitchen flooring including tile, hardwood, and luxury vinyl materials.
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards and complies with Chicago building codes.
  • Maintain professional communication with homeowners throughout the renovation process.
  • Keep job sites organized, clean, and safe for both workers and residents.
  • Troubleshoot issues as they arise and implement solutions efficiently.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to meet project timelines.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in kitchen remodeling or residential carpentry.
  • Strong skills in cabinet installation, countertop fitting, and finish carpentry.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with power tools, hand tools, and basic construction equipment.
  • Knowledge of plumbing and electrical rough-in requirements for kitchen installations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license for travel to Chicago job sites.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work on your feet throughout the day.
  • Professional attitude and strong communication skills with clients.
  • Willingness to learn advanced techniques and adapt to new materials and methods.
